Personality: Young, outspoken Stara always has something to say. She craves perilous adventure. Once you mention war or battle claws, she cannot stop babbling about it. Stara loves to fly on moonlit nights.
History: Stara was born in the Northern Kingdoms on Stormfast Island. Her parents gave birth to on a cold, frigid night. Her parents were deeply troubled by Stara's star-shaped birthmark on her left wing. For if an owl was born with a star-shaped birthmark, they were destined to evil. When Stara amd Monsoren were merely owlets, Grendellen left their home to go to the Great Ga'Hoole Tree to become a colliering owl, something he had only dreamed of.
Two months later, Grendellen flew back to his family. He told of how they would move to the Great Ga'Hoole Tree. Wycelia, Monsoren, and Stara were ecstatic. The family were flying over the border of Silverveil and the Shadow Forest when suddenly a Pure Ones patrol came in sight! Grendellen and Wycelia fought for their and their children's lives. But the patrol succeeded in killing Grendellen and Wycelia and Sparta, their nest-maid snake, and Monsoren, being months older and skilled in flight, disappeared mysteriously.
Stara, being new at flying, sought help. She ran to the nearest burrow and sheltered there, for the chills of winter had just set in. Two days later, with Stara still in the burrow, a family of Burrowing Owls came back to their burrow. They welcomed Stara into their family. Five months later, in the warm welcome of summer, Stara met a Boreal Owl by the name of Mydonryb. He was the colliering ryb at the Great Ga'Hoole Tree. He offered to be her escort to the Ga'Hoole Tree!
Stara accepted Mydonryb's offer and, after saying farewell to her adopted family, was soon flying to the Great Ga'Hoole Tree!
